The hotel in Pripyat was at one time very grand. It had beautiful marble floors and walls, and a large sweeping staircase in the entry. Where the floors were not marble, they were appointed with a deep red plush carpet.
Someone had tried to steal this radiator, unsuccessfully. Most of the radiators are now gone, having been salvaged for scrap metal.
