Olga offers flowers

Olga tends the garden here at the Liquidators Memorial. She lost her son, Anatoly in 1999. He was a liquidator, and died due to his exposure to the fallout at Chernobyl. 7 months later, her husband died of "a broken heart". Her daughter is also disabled from the fallout.
I spent nearly an hour with Olga on this day, and I will never forget her.
When we parted, she pulled up this mass of flowers and gave them to me. She said that they would die anyway in the heat (it was well over 90 degrees outside). She also told me that nothing could ever bring life back to her, not even the flowers. They were beautiful flowers, and so I gave them to Vova to bring back to his mother, who is a 20 year stage 4 breast cancer survivor.
